To the Friends of the Mary Lynn Higgins Youth Fund,

What a fantastic night! Thank you all for braving the weather and sharing this evening with us.

Your generosity was over-whelming. We raised $10,250 for the Gus’s of this province!! For those of you who were unable to attend, during the event we were introduced to "Gus," one of our scholarship applicants. His story put a face on the children we help through the fund. And speaking of Gus…our sincere thanks to Alex DiMillo who took Prisca’s challenge and donated $250 which ensured that Gus will travel. Also our thanks to a very kind anonymous donor for an additional $250 that ensured that Gus’ equally needy classmate will travel as well.

Our thanks go out to all the volunteers who have spent countless hours organizing, fund-raising, silent auction item collecting and just making sure the evening was a success. Our thanks in particular to Maureen Neumann who is the Silent Auction Queen and to Kelly Wood who kept (and continues) to keep the evening’s finances in order.

We would be remiss not to mention the tremendous support from First Choice Educational Tours, our charter sponsor, who has not only committed to $20,000 over two years but also donated the feature raffle prize of the trip to the Dominican Republic, the iPod, and many silent auction items. My thanks to the First Choice staff for their selfless efforts and to our 4 student volunteers who collected $1800 in raffle tickets!

There were so many people instrumental in planning this event that we could not fit our thank you’s on one page. The success of the evening is completely attributed to the volunteers and donors on the attached page.

The Board of Trustees is now working on our mandate to secure additional corporate sponsors. If you know of a company or individual who might be interested in donating to the Mary Lynn Higgins Youth Fund but need more information, please let us know.

We wish to thank all of you for your incredible support. The Second Annual Mary Lynn Higgins Pub Night generated enough funds to sponsor approximately 35 disadvantaged but deserving students to further their education through travel.

Wishing everyone a wonderful up-coming holiday season,

The Board of Trustees
